Can Republicans detox the Trump influence?
It’s hard to believe that any sane person could believe Trump won the election. Every state audit has confirmed that Biden won, and yet the psychopath is throwing tantrums whenever someone in his party acknowledges that Biden won. Make no mistake about it; Trump is becoming irrelevant, and his batshit crazy followers in Congress are going down.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) asserted on Thursday that scientists have been wrong “since the beginning of time.” During an interview on Real America’s Voice, Steve Bannon told Greene that Dr. Peter Hotez of the Baylor College of Medicine had criticized her and other conservatives for their campaign against Covid-19 vaccines. This is a clear indication that she is in dire need of mental intervention.
The whole Republican party, it seems has been hijacked by stupidity. If the GOP wins the 2022 midterms, Republicans will seek to muddy the facts over Trump supporters storming the Capitol to overturn the 2020 election results.
In the year since a right-wing mob attacked the Capitol, Donald Trump has persistently attempted to present himself as the victim of wide-ranging conspiracies intended to deprive him of his hold on power. He has also, just as persistently, worked to increase his iron grip on the GOP, triggering primary challenges against any politician from the party who dares to cross him or even to question his more outlandish claims. This comes as loyalists of former President Donald Trump attempted to certify the Electoral College in favor of the defeated candidate with forged documents, according to new reporting by MSNBC host Rachel Maddow.
If that doesn’t convince you that Republicans are out of control, then watch Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky grill Dr. Anthony Fauci on Tuesday during a public hearing over the COVID pandemic. Engaged in a blatant effort to score political points with his “fans” (not his constituents), Paul verbally assaulted a government employee trying to deal with a crippling pandemic. Though Fauci has no power to impose mask mandates — or much of anything else — that hasn’t stopped Paul from calling him a “petty tyrant.” Kentucky’s junior senator has been Fauci’s chief Senate tormentor during the pandemic and has turned a health crisis into a blood sport. Fauci, who finally seems to have had enough, pointed out Tuesday that Paul has not only been harassing him, leading to death threats against Fauci and his family, but also fundraising off the harassment.
Psychopaths are a danger to our country because they consistently lie and twist facts. Donald Trump abruptly ended an interview with NPR after repeatedly calling out on his baseless claims of election fraud in the 2020 presidential election. They are a danger to our county even as Trump loses followers because they know they are lying and don’t care.
Our education system is also in danger as they are restricted by what they can teach by zealous Republicans determined to change history. Batshit crazy? I think they have moved beyond that.
