Supreme Court officials are escalating their search for the source of the leaked draft opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade, taking steps to require law clerks to provide cell phone records and sign affidavits, three sources with knowledge of the efforts have told CNN.

Cracks are forming in the U.S. labor market as some companies look to curb hiring while others are desperate for employees.
Microsoft, Twitter, Wayfair, Snap and Facebook-parent Meta recently announced they plan to be more conservative about adding new employees. Peloton and Netflix announced layoffs as demand for their products slowed, and online car seller Carvana cut its workforce as it faces inflation and a cratering stock price.

In 1993, a cypress tree stump in Chile was confirmed by tree-ring-counting as 3,622 years old — showing the capacity of these slow-growing relatives of sequoia to endure through centuries. However, another scientist recently found that a living individual, known as the “millennium cypress” or “great-grandfather” could be more than 5,000 years old — which would make it the oldest tree on Earth by a nearly half a millennium.

According to the National Institutes of Health, people with a mental health diagnosis committed less than 5 percent of gun-related homicides between 2001 and 2010. Mental health experts, including representatives from the American Psychological Association, have called it “unfounded” to blame mass shootings on mental illness in place of considering other possible factors, such as hate, bigotry, and access to assault weapons.
