Tuesday stuff

If someone hurts you try and understand that they have probably been hurt in the past and are still dealing with the pain.

Evidence from Facebook and Instagram users, medical researchers, and its own Ad Library suggests that Meta is rife with ads containing sensational health claims, which the company directly profits from. The misleading ads may remain unchallenged for months and even years.

The initial response by President Biden and other Democratic leaders to the overturning of Roe struck many Democrats as painfully inadequate but what do voters expect them to do? SCOTUS did not make abortion illegal. They left it up to the voters in each state to decide.

People around the country are changing their consumption habits. Some are starting budgets and shopping at discount stores. Others are skipping red meat and fish, walking dogs for extra cash, canceling subscription meal kits or, like Harold Topper of Stamford, Conn., resorting to psychological tricks to blunt the pain.

This isn’t your country anymore. You are now governed by a secretive and unaccountable junta in long black robes, and there are going to be some changes around here.
Our de facto rulers are Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel A. Alito Jr., Neil M. Gorsuch, Brett M. Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett, with Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. usually joining in. Stocks swelled Friday, lifting the Dow more than 800 points and giving Wall Street a badly needed win after weeks of tumult. The S&P 500 soared 3.1 percent, or 116.42 points, to close at 3,912.15. The tech-heavy Nasdaq surged 3.3 percent, or 375.43 points, to settle at 11,607.62. The Dow Jones industrial average spiked 2.7 percent, or 824.90 points, to end at 31,502.26.
